How many inches of bedding does a ball python need?

To determine how much bedding is needed would depend on the thickness that is being set up for the terrarium. This bedding is recommended to have a minimum 2-inch depth. With very large, heavy snakes, you may need up to 4-inch depth.

    A few of my snakes have had nice, clean sheds, so it's not an issue. I switched to shredded newspaper because it's much more economical than other substrates. If it gets wet, it dries pretty quickly. Sauzo and M.P.C have brought up some good points.
