How long do peonies flower?
Each flower lasts for seven to 10 days and one plant can grow multiple blooms.
How do you winterize peony bushes?
Cut the foliage to the ground in the fall to avoid any overwintering diseases. Don't smother peonies with mulch. Where cold temperatures are severe, for the first winter after planting you can mulch VERY loosely with pine needles or shredded bark. Remove mulch in the spring.
Should you deadhead peony?
Regular deadheading is important because it helps flowers look their best, prevents damage to leaves, and helps plants channel their energy into producing and replenishing their bulbs. Basically, if you take the time to deadhead your peonies, you'll get to enjoy more flowers, and peony season will last much longer.
